Interactive books, have you tried them in your classroom yet? Can I just say that we love them! As the teacher, I like them because they keep the children’s attention. They like them because they can move and match the picture cards around as we read the book. A Win! Win for all! Interactive books naturally draw children’s attention to the book because it provides them with something to do. I love how these books provide children with many opportunities to practice needed skills. The first set of interactive books that I introduced to my students where the ABC interactive book series. These books give children the opportunity to practice and build language and vocabulary. We start by reading and pointing to each word. Next the children match the picture on each page after the page has been read. After each page, has been read and children have moved and matched all the pictures, we point to each word under the picture and read each one. You can find many different interactive books that can be use to help children learn about the weather. or Fire Safety.
