By far the All About Theme is my favorite theme to teach. I love to watch the children discover things about themselves and their friends. This unit is designed to get kids thinking about themselves and the things that they can do. During our Social Skills meeting we learn how to be Active Listeners with a simple to understand group book and song to support this learning skill. Pocket Chart Math is in full swing and the children are enjoying it. This week we learned about one to one correspondence with a art helper that had to pass out the need supplies to each child. They demonstrated their knowledge by coming up with the amount they needed for the amount of children in their group. Our learning Centers got changed out this week know that the children are really getting the concept of each Learning Center and how to take care of them. We did change out our sensory table from the plans to sorting color pom poms while building fine motor skills. Look at the collaboration happening in our block center. I can't believe that I already have week 2 done and in the books. My little's are really starting to get into the daily routine and making connections with all of their new friends. This week the children are still learning friends names and recognizing their own name. This pocket chart story using children's names and what they can do at school was the perfect addition to our group meeting. The children also enjoyed hearing the story of Mary and her Little Lamb that followed her to school. We are still practicing how to use all of our learning centers. As the children rotated through the centers this week we added a few more items from the shelves to show them how they could expand their play in each area. This week we started our regular small group activities that are geared toward assessments that need to get done and also learning goals based on children's needs. Well I’m back for another year of Peer into My Week. The first week of school we are easing into our school life by learning the routines. Group Time ![]() Is all about
Center Time During center time we grouped children into groups and rotated around to each learning center, every 20 minutes. During our time in each center we modeled how to use items, how to ask for what they want or need, how to share items and what to do when they hear the cleanup bell. Small Group During small group time we are taking the time to introduce children to certain learning tools that they can find in the classroom environment.
and
Planner I was able to keep it all together with the Teachers Dream Planner. This planner allows for me to keep everything in one spot. Even notes from our first Teachers Meeting. Grab this Weeks Plans You can edit the PowerPoint plans to meet your own personal needs.
